Quotes
The title I chose for this blog is an excerpt from a quote by Jean Genet. I chose it because it was the shortest phrase that best explained the thoughts I tried to convey throughout the paper and every blog post. While I don't know the context of the full quote, what I took away from it is that the darkness is where the impossible becomes possible. The darkness is where we go to dream, and dare to defy whatever we wish. Though light is always believed to be the representation of goodness, I think darkness is the representation of so much more. That's ultimately why I chose this title.
Some of the other contenders:
"Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it."
"Look at how a single candle can both define and defy the darkness."
"How can I be substantial if I do not cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also if I am to be whole."
"What makes night within us may leave stars."
